Hi, I’m Merryn – Swim coach for Peak Endurance Swimming. I am a life-long swimmer; come from a competitive triathlon background and combine my experience with a teaching degree. I love the teaching and learning process of working with adult swimmers.

The Peak Endurance Swim Programme has developed to meet the needs of local swimmers. It caters to a broad spectrum of abilities from experienced all the way to complete beginners. My philosophy is to create an environment where swimmers are learning, relaxed, progressing and having fun in the water.

Squads run year round to the school term schedule. Numbers are capped to ensure a quality experience. I recommend meeting for a private session prior to joining any group so I can guide you into the squad that best suits your level whilst setting you up with some positive technique cues to work with in the squad.

Benefits of squad swimming:

  • Weekly coach input and feedback for stroke improvement
  • Experience new challenges and variety in your training
  • Tips for race day preparation
  • Share the journey with others – have some fun while you do the hard stuff, learn new skills or challenge yourself to go further, faster or smoother.

Peak Squad

Pitched to confident swimmers of a variety of speeds for technique and fitness training. Sessions include technique coaching in predominantly freestyle but also other strokes. Spring-summer training brings in open water skills, drills and training for open water swimming participation / competition. Moderate fitness and skill is required.

Women’s Peak Squad

A women’s only experience – a little less driven than Peak Squad.

Mini Squad

Small group sessions for new swimmers who are developing their stroke and confidence.

Adult learn to swim

Individual lessons to overcome fears of the water, develop confidence and learn the skill of swimming. This is often a life changing experience! For a complete beginner I recommend an investment at the outset of 5 lessons in succession to bring the stroke together.

Private 1:1 technique and coaching

Sessions for swimmers of any level seeking detailed technical feedback and coaching on their stroke/s. Video footage is used to assist the learning curve and feedback loop and then you’re set up with drills and tips to assist your progress, understanding and performance in the water.
