Running is a simple and beautiful sport and there is never a day that we don’t walk away from a run squad exhilarated and smiling!
Our run coaching aims to tie in technique development together with getting you fitter and faster as a runner. We offer a wide spectrum of individual and group run coaching. For individual run coaching refer to our endurance pace. For Group training please see our squad information below.
Summer Run Squad (aka Wed Run Group)
This group is for all levels of runner – we divide into 2 groups with 3 coaches so you can train at YOUR level. Our groups all work on run technique, aerobic fitness and the higher level groups train hills and intervals. We finish our sessions with run-specific core & range to keep you injury-free. These training groups are designed to help you become a better runner, and help prepare our athletes for their many events.
Winter Run Squad (aka Winter Run Combo)
The winter is the best time to make gains in your running and run–specific strength needs! This training session has 45 mins run and 45 mins run-specific strength & range. These winter run groups have been hugely popular as they get people out in the middle of the winter and help create a solid foundation from which runners can then drop into summer training strong & fit.
Teenage Run Squad
Some kids just love to run. We’ve coached Junior runners since 2015, some who have gone on to be National athletics and triathlon Champions; to US scholarship and others who have just enjoyed running. We cater to all runners, but most importantly we keep them safe, as living in an Ironman town is a double edged sword for our young runners. Our group is led by Sammy Burke, a former NZ and Australian Cross Country Champion who has finished a run scholarship in the US complete with a science degree (Applied Health & Fitness). Sammy was one of those kids who just loved to run, and although she personally has had a lot of success with her running, she has also suffered injury and has become a very balanced runner keen to share her passion with others. Her run squad will help runners who just want to run, runners who want to be competitive and team–sport athletes who want to use running to become fitter.
Beginners Run Clinic
Have you wanted to become a runner but
1) Don’t quite know where to start?
2) Have tried and quit or got injured?
3) Lacked the motivation to get past the hard bit and get to the “runners high” level everyone talks about?
This clinic includes: a program designed to progress you to run up to 10 km; a weekly group run; run technique coaching; weekly training tips; an experienced run coach who can motivate and help answer any questions you have; plus a supportive group atmosphere to train with. This 10-week clinic starts October 12th and will get you “run fit” and confident in your running by Christmas!
